In 2019 research by Zenger and Folkman (Confidence & Leadership Effectiveness; Harvard Business Review) examining 7280 leaders found that confidence was key in leadership success, and a study from KMPG’s Women’s Leadership Study (2015, The Confidence Gap) found that 63% of women in leadership reported a lack of confidence in their abilities, this was despite their skill level, and was a key factor in them not progressing in their career.

Many clients will work with me to overcome self-doubt and avoid feeling like a failure, overwhelmed and stressed. However, exploring how you can enjoy higher levels of confidence can greatly impact you on a more practical level.

One of the exercises I do with my clients is exploring how they spend their time. How much time are you distracted by your negative thoughts and feelings? Clients will often share that it can be 2-3 minutes in every 10! When we add that up that’s 18 minutes in every hour or 2.4 hours in every 8-hour working day!
