Just over a year ago I visited Seattle for work, and I’m finally getting round to writing about my trip!
Well known among foodies, the city is full of great restaurants and bars, and I ate at a fair few of them so wanted to tell you all about my favourites.
1. The Pink Door
The Pink Door is SO cool and was one of my favourite places in Seattle.
They have live music, really amazing food (try the lasagne!), and delicious cocktails! You really can’t go wrong.
I adored the different rooms and the whole design and vibe of the place was immaculate.
Just make sure you book in advance as it gets booked up quickly!
2. Canlis
Canlis is apparently the most famous restaurant in Seattle.
A landmark since the 1950s, it’s a fine dining superstar within a stunning mid-century glass building.
I actually booked this restaurant for a work dinner. We had the private penthouse room with our own bar, a pianist, and the stunninig view over the water and city in the distance.
It was magic.
The menu was incredible and the cocktails were *chefs kiss*.
They also have one of the best wine menus I’ve ever seen. I ordered the wines for our pairings in advance as part of the booking, so I got to hand-pick each wine and I had great fun choosing all the Margaret River wines, and finishing with my favourite Hungarian dessert wine – a Tokaj Oremus.
3. The Hart and the Hunter
Make sure you visit The Hart and The Hunter for breakfast. It’s the restaurant inside Palihotel Seattle, and trust me, you don’t want to miss this spot.
I had the best french toast I’ve ever eaten.
It was unbelievable, the outside was perfectly cooked and the inside was soft and fluffy and just beautiful.
It was sooo tasty!
4. Charlotte Restaurant & Lounge
If you’re after a swanky bar while you’re in Seattle, look no further than the Charlotte, on the top floor of the Lotte Hotel Seattle.
We unfortunately didn’t have time to eat here, but we loved the cocktails and the relaxed vibes and I’ve heard such good things about the food!
The bar is super trendy and beautifully designed, with sweeping views over the city.
5. Bacco Cafe
Close to Pike Place Market, Bacco Cafe do an epic breakfast – I had the Breakfast skillet and it was ideal the morning after a long flight.
It’s proper comfort food in a cosy, comforting diner environment.
Everything looked delicious, there were lots of egg benedicts coming out and I’d 100% try one of those if I went back.
6. Cactus South Lake Union
My first evening in Seattle I was desperate for something reasonably healthy after 10 hours of eating airplane food.
A quick Google search led me to Mexican restaurant, Cactus South Lake Union, a local chain restaurant underneath one of our offices.
I thoroughly enjoyed the fajitas and guacamole, and the staff were super kind and when they heard it was my first time in Seattle, they brought me a delicious dessert on the house as a welcome 🥹
7. Top Pot Donuts
Top Pot Donuts are famous in Seattle, so naturally I had to try one.
They have heaps of different flavours and although I just went for a basic original donut, it was sooo good!
Top Pot have a bunch of different locations across Seattle, but I went to the one on 5th Ave as it’s enroute to the Space Needle area.
Seattle’s food and restaurant scene is well worth exploring if you’ve visiting Seattle. I really hope you try some of these restaurants and bars out – follow me on Instagram and let me know what you think of them!
