Raffles Sentosa Singapore officially opened its doors with an extravagant grand opening celebration on Saturday, 17 May 2025, welcoming over 500 distinguished guests to experience the country’s newest luxury hospitality destination. The all-villa resort, nestled within 100,000 square metres of tropical greenery on Sentosa Island, hosted the exclusive event for Singapore’s business and diplomatic communities, showcasing its exceptional dining offerings and elegant facilities.
The grand opening celebration was hosted by The Royal Group, established in 1947 and headquartered in Singapore. The company specialises in real estate development and management across the Asia Pacific region, with a portfolio spanning residential, industrial, and commercial properties.
Raffles Hotels, Resorts and Residences, founded in Singapore in 1887, operates landmark properties in key international locations including Paris, London, Boston, Istanbul, Dubai, Doha, Maldives, Jaipur, Phnom Penh, and Bali. The brand is part of Accor, a global hospitality group with over 5,600 properties in more than 110 countries.
The evening’s festivities began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:00 pm, followed by a progressive culinary journey throughout the property. The scale of the celebration was impressive, with 48 chefs working 26 hours to craft 6,850 canapés featuring over 2.6 kilograms of caviar and other premium ingredients. Guests enjoyed 150 bottles of champagne and more than 500 servings of the resort’s signature Sentosa Sling.

The culinary tour highlighted the resort’s five distinct dining venues. At Royal China, the refined Cantonese restaurant, guests sampled over 1,400 pieces of signature Royal Peking Duck alongside 40 kilograms of honey-glazed Kurobuta pork and 25 kilograms of roasted pork belly. IYASAKA by Hashida, the resort’s omakase-style Japanese restaurant, offered seasonal delicacies including Hotaru Ika (firefly squid) and caviar served on buckwheat flour taco shells. Empire Grill, the modern Italian dining venue, provided an elevated canapé experience crafted by the team of chefs.
The main celebration took place in the Raffles Ballroom, a spectacular 400-seat banquet space that can accommodate up to 600 guests for standing events. The ballroom was transformed for the evening with food stations from each restaurant and featured live performances by soprano Seia Lee, jazz vocalist Alemay Fernandez with her band, and renowned Erhu soloist Calista Liaw.
Guests toured both grand ballrooms, each adorned with bespoke Lasvit chandeliers inspired by Singapore orchids, reinforcing the resort’s position as a premier venue for prestigious events.
Raffles Sentosa Singapore represents a new benchmark for luxury accommodation in Singapore. The resort features 62 contemporary villas, each starting from 211 square metres and including private pools, terraces, and tropical gardens. Located on a hilltop just 15 minutes from Singapore’s city centre, the property offers guests privacy and personalised service in a secluded sanctuary setting.
The resort’s amenities include five restaurants, an expansive spa focusing on holistic wellness, two magnificent ballrooms, and direct access to an award-winning golf club and Sentosa’s Tanjong Beach.
To commemorate the grand opening, Raffles Sentosa Singapore is offering a “Welcome Home” experience package for guests. The luxury stay package includes private roundtrip transfers, daily breakfast for two at Empire Grill, and a complimentary Sentosa Sling.
The exclusive offer is available for bookings made before 31 October 2025, for stays through 30 November 2025, with rates starting from S$1,398 per villa per night, subject to 10% service charge and prevailing government tax.
The successful grand opening positions Raffles Sentosa Singapore as a significant addition to Singapore’s luxury hospitality landscape, offering an unprecedented all-villa experience in one of the city-state’s most desirable locations.
