Does Winter call for different beauty products? In my opinion, it absolutely does. The cold has a real effect on our bodies and that calls for specialised products.
As always, I am one for ‘less is more’, so the less products you can buy and get away with, the better.
Here is my list of Winter Beauty Essentials:
Tula Beauty Filter Blurring and Moisturising primer
Costs £33 from Space NK, Amazon USA, or direct from Tula (US).
This is incredible. It literally makes your face glow and like applies a filter – I am on my 3rd one and cannot recommend this enough. I use colour Sunrise and it literally applies a bit of sunshine to my face each morning.
Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream
Costs £51/$80 from Space NK (Global), Sephora (UK, USA), Amazon UK.
An eye cream that actually does something.. immediately. I am on my second Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream and I even recommended it as a stocking filler as it is so good. You wake up, do what you need to do and this really helps you look more awake and alive (basic life skills here). Really good for dark circles and depuff. Has my vote 100%. I love the cold roller.
Malin + Goetz Eucalyptus travel deodorant
Costs £11 from Amazon UK, Space NK, Sephora UK/EU, Amazon USA
If you are looking for an aluminium free natural deodorant, this could be the one. I have tried others in the meantime (I do rate the Bamford one), but this one worked best for me (and I have tried it in proper Summer weather too). I really like this travel sized version: lasts a good 3 months if you use it day to day and doesn’t take up a lot of real estate in your wash bag.
Soho Skin 24/7 Treatment
Costs £72 from Space NK
I read about this product when it launched in one of the Stella columns and I loved the back story: developed by Soho House’s beauty team, it was code named ‘game face’ and promised to erase the night before the morning of. Well, you can use it for 10 mins as a pre game mask (it works). But you can also sleep with it on and really notice a difference. I do both occasionally. I wished they did this product in a smaller size as it will be perfect when you travel.
REVLON Pro Collection Salon One Step Hair Dryer and Volumiser
Costs from £45/$45 from Amazon UK, Amazon USA
A new version for medium and shorter hair is now available and it is fantastic.
For best results, let hair air dry for 5 minutes or so, so it isn’t dripping wet (but it still works well). As I am a tiny bit lazy, those 5 minutes allow me to style the hair much faster. Current timing is 10 minutes. Watch this short video (it is the one that made me buy it)
La Mer Hand Treatment, 100ml
Costs £85/$85 from La Mer UK, Selfridges, or Nordstrom (it is 20% cheaper in the USA, which is not always the norm with this brand)
Pricey? A little. But it is rich yet not sticky, has a very subtle scent and really does hydrate your hands like very few others. You really notice how dry patches disappear and a nice subtle shine. A little goes a long way, so do expect it to last a whole Winter.

Dior Ambre Nuit Hand Soap, 350ml
Costs £62 and you can get it from Dior or select airport locations
This was one of my last airport purchases pre-lock down and I LOVE this scent. It is warm, it is sexy – I love Amber. And the bottle is also gorgeous (and much larger than many others featured below)

Boots Dual Defence Nasal Spray 20ml
Costs £5.99 from Boots
I have to thank Mary-Anne, a blog reader from the USA for this one who asked if I could buy this spray (a handful of them) for her. I was intrigued and bought an extra one for myself – and for the past 2 winters, we have been living on this. As soon as you get the first sign of a cold, you start spraying. I don’t want to jinx it, but we have been cold-free for 2 winters now and I buy this for all my family, name each with a sharpie and wouldn’t dare travel without it. Is this a beauty product? Well, maybe!
I hope you like my selection of Winter beauty products and do let me know if you try one more more.
