After your paddle, explore the heart of Slidell’s Olde Towne district, known for its historic charm, local boutiques, and vibrant community events.

Continue west to Mandeville and unwind at The Barley Oak, a lakeside beer haven with sweeping views of Lake Pontchartrain and a curated selection of craft brews.

For a taste of local flavour, grab lunch at the iconic Lasyone’s Meat Pie Kitchen, home of the legendary Natchitoches meat pie. My favourite is the crawfish.

History buffs won’t want to miss a tour of Melrose on the Cane, a plantation steeped in art and folklore, or Fort St. Jean Baptiste, a reconstructed French colonial fort that brings the 18th century vividly to life.

And when it’s time to unwind, Flying Heart Brewing serves up craft beers with a local twist—perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening hangout.

To cap off your visit, hop aboard the Cane River Queen for a leisurely cruise down Cane River Lake.
