Last week I received an invite to celebrate the arrival of Summer in form of a garden party with Monsoon at the most gorgeous of venues – Petersham Nurseries. Set within a glass house this venue is incredible! It’s full of charm, surrounded by the most stunning florals arrangements and beautifully decorated with antique furnishings. We sipped on the most wonderful raspberry Bellini’s and tucked into a gorgeous light lunch finished off with an insight into distilled mocktails with Seedlip.
These photos really don’t do the day justice!
Summer Dressing
Last week we got a glorious taste of Summer in the UK and temperatures soared well into the high 20’s! This got me super excited for Summer and I thought it was about time to delve into my wardrobe and show you the item’s I’m going to be dressing this season.
Linen Staples
If you we’re not already aware Linen is big this Season. Think neutrals-creams, whites, greys and blacks. It’s such a gorgeous way to wear your tailoring come summer, and it’s super light weight! Shop my favourite Monsoon Linen pieces below.
Longer Lengths
I love to wear a dress around this time of year, and my favourite style is a midi or maxi! They’re super easy to wear for different occasions, you’ve just got to be savvy with your footwear and accessories. How gorgeous is the Heide print maxi? I’d wear this with white trainers.
Pretty Embroidery
This is the easiest piece to slip into you’re wardrobe. Just pair with denim! This Harlow pleat frill top is my favourite embroiled piece at the moment. It looks super cute with a pair of straight leg jeans or tucked into a denim midi.
The Outfit – I mentioned previously how big linen is this season. So, of course I had to pick up this Cora tie side linen dress for a visit to Petersham Nurseries for the Monsoon tea party. This dress is everything I look for when purchasing a dress. For one, It’s got the midi length I love! It’s got an amazing button detailing down the middle and the tie sides are adjustable which pulls the dress in in all the right places making it super flattering for any shape. I’ve worn mine with trainers (mainly down to the uneven ground) but this dress would also look incredible with a pair of espadrille wedges for bow detailed sandals.
