Chic boozy brunch at Mami Rose Bangkok

You might be tempted to roll your eyes and think, “Not another pastel-themed restaurant-café,” and I get it—there’s no shortage of Instagrammable spots in Bangkok. But Mami Rose isn’t just another pretty face in the crowd.

Behind the charming colors and aesthetically pleasing decor, there’s real substance. With all the buzz surrounding its launch, I was curious to find out what truly sets Mami Rose apart.

So, on a laid-back Saturday afternoon – perfect for avoiding the usual crowd – my girlfriend and I decided to see for ourselves, opting for a boozy brunch.

Here’s what we discovered.

Vibe Check

Our first impression was the elegant, feel-good vibe of Mami Rose. We knew it was a party hotspot at night, but during the day, it felt completely different.

It was a quiet Saturday afternoon, with only a few tables occupied – a few couples on dates and a group of friends enjoying brunch and drinks.

The mellow background music created a quaint ambiance, far from the high-energy beats that take over when the DJ comes out at night. Having seen videos of people dancing and partying, the serene atmosphere felt almost surreal, but in a good way.

We appreciated the calm—it gave us the perfect opportunity to enjoy a peaceful date.

I guess that’s what sets Mami Rose apart from other venues in Bangkok is its ability to offer two distinct experiences in one place.

This dual appeal makes Mami Rose a must-visit, whether you’re a local or traveler looking for a new go-to restaurant with vibrant nightlife vibes.

Dreamy Design

The decor at Mami Rose is all about soft pastel colors. Baby pink seems to be the spotlight here with hues of other pink and white colors. So if you love pastels and pinks, you are going to adore Mami Rose.

Mami Rose space feels fun, fresh, and effortlessly chic, combining comfy wicker chairs, floral patterns, and plush cushions.

Mami Rose Bangkok offers a variety of seating zones, which are divided in indoor and outdoor sections. Each zone gives a unique but seamless experience.

The design of each space is also slightly unique but still consistent with the overall theme of the place.

There is ample lighting around the indoor and outdoor sections of the restaurant. In fact, the natural light combined with pink and warm lighting of lamps adds a cozy, inviting touch.

I think the best way to describe the place is that its a combination of a playful Miami vibe mixed with tropical greenery. It’s the perfect place for Instagram photos in addition to a relaxed afternoon brunch.

Fusion Flavors

Moving on to the soul of the restaurant—its food.

Mami Rose Bangkok delivers an amazing culinary experience as vibrant and chic as its decor. Each dish is crafted with care and perfection. They are a careful balance of flavor, presentation, and art.

The chefs must be truly skilled because the food was quite unique in taste. A wonderful fusion of Asian and European flavors.

Here’s what we had:

Prawn skewers – succulent and loaded with Asian-spiced flavors. It’s like a BBQ sauce but with a kick. A big, heated kick.

Parmesan and truffle fries – crispy fries with perfect amount of parmesan and truffle.

Hamachi ceviche – ever since I tried ceviche, I wanted to try it everywhere that serves it. Something about it that I love. It is made with leche de tigre, a type of Peruvian sauce made from fish trimmings, onion, garlic, ginger, coriander stalks and chili. This was a very unique dish, one that you need to experience yourself. I simply can’t begin to describe it.

Lobster risotto – after watching a lot of Hell’s Kitchen, I had been craving a good lobster risotto. I’ve never really tried risotto so I have nothing to compare it to. It was a bit heavy on the salt but otherwise, I enjoyed it.

Seafood marinara – the hamachi ceviche was my favorite dish but the seafood marinara pasta was a close second. I love this dish. The sweet and sour sauce with a bit of spice really hit the spot. It also comes with huge prawns and mussels.

Creative Signature Cocktails

We washed these dishes down with a couple of cocktails as well.

I won’t go in detail about them but I would say these are pretty good cocktails in terms of both aesthetics and taste. I found these the most unique from the menu:

El Flamingo – I loved the presentation of it so I had to order it. It’s made with Vodka, blue curacao, lychee syrup and egg white.

Plata O Plomo – Pisco, passion fruit, lemon juice, and egg white. Notice something interesting about it?

Love Island – a pretty cockail made with vodka, white cacao, and agave syrup

Service with a Smile

The service at Mami Rose is just as great as the food. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly smiles and an easy-going vibe. The staff is super attentive without being overbearing, always ready with quick drink refills or helpful menu tips.

They make sure you’re comfortable and enjoying your time, and their upbeat energy adds to the fun atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you feel well taken care of without any fuss – just good vibes and great service.

I have to say overall I enjoyed the visit. I’d love to go back at night and experience the party vibes.

Keep an eye out on my Instagram for stories or reels about it.
