Banyumala Twin Waterfall – Bali Waterfalls & Natural Pool

Banyumala Twin Waterfall – Bali Waterfalls & Natural Pool

Posted on February 27, 2025 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Banyumala Twin Waterfall – Bali Waterfalls & Natural Pool

There is no shortage of beautiful Bali waterfalls, our favorite being Banyumala Twin Waterfall. Located in North Bali, this hidden gem is quickly growing in popularity due to it’s incredible, natural beauty. Huge and secluded with a natural swimming pool and bamboo bridge, Banyumala Twin Waterfall is one of the best waterfalls in Bali to visit!

How To Get To Banyumala Twin Waterfall

Banyumala Twin Waterfall

Banyumala Waterfall, also known as Air Terjun Banyumala, is located in North Bali, about a 2-hour drive up from Ubud. Specifically it’s in the Wanagiri area, near many of the famous selfie parks of Bali.

North Bali is a paradise of Bali waterfalls – seriously, there are so many to visit! We really wanted to visit Sekumpul Waterfall and Git Git Waterfall, but we found that Banyumala was much closer to our villa in Munduk.

We used Google Maps and managed to find Banyumala just fine. On the main road you will turn left down a dirt path. We had to take a detour due to construction, but regardless there should be signs and/or locals that can point you in the right direction. The 3km dirt road to the parking area wasn’t maintained and very bumpy. You will also encounter some concrete paths which are VERY steep, so be cautious on the way down!

We rode in on one scooter, and parking was 2000 rupiah, or about about 15 cents. After a steep, but quick walk down to the entrance hut, we were also charged 15,000 rupiah per person for the entrance fee, or about $1 usd. The locals were very kind 🙂

Walking Down To Banyumala Waterfall

Banyumala Twin Waterfall

It’s about a 10-15 minute walk down to Banyumala Twin Waterfall. The path is not difficult, although some of the steps are quite steep (as they all are in Bali!), and it’s a little tiring on the walk back up. After a short walk down, you’ll turn the corner and be greeted by this incredible sight in no time!

Best Time To Visit Banyumala Twin Waterfall

Banyumala Twin Waterfall

We visited Banyumala Waterfall at around noon, and we luckily had the spot all to ourselves! A few people came and went here and there, but the waterfall never got very crowded, as it’s still a lesser known tourist spot. We’d say it’s one of the most beautiful, yet secret waterfalls of Bali!

You can dip and swim in the falls if you wish. The water wasn’t too strong when we went, and we were able to stand right under the falls.

We also got to meet a couple of local village kids playing in the area as well, but don’t leave your stuff laying around unattended or they might swipe your hat lol. (They were sweet, we got it back from them haha).

After swimming and enjoying Banyumala, we noticed right behind there were 3-4 more mini waterfalls in the area. They are really tiny and not as photogenic, but still cool to take a quick peek at.  We had so much fun at Banyumala Twin Waterfalls, and it definitely was one of our favorite thing that we did in Bali!

Need a driver in Bali?

We organized all of our transportation options with our driver Iwayan. A super-friendly, reliable, and safe driver with affordable rates, Iwayan made our trip so much more easier, and his a/c car was perfect getting to/from Ubud, Munduk, Sanur, etc. He also is very cool with frequent picture stops 🙂 Here is his Whatsapp info, you can tell him we sent you! [+62 813-3873-5308]

& No we aren’t getting commission for recommending him, Iwayan was just awesome! He also told us to tell all our friends, so don’t hesitate to see if he’s available for your Bali trip.
