A bit of old and lots of new – the flagship model for the Aston Martin brand is back with the almost all new Vanquish. The name returns as do some familiar design cues but there is lots that is completely new and quite frankly stunning!
The new Vanquish honours its name with an elegant display of domination. A new front mid-mounted 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 arms the rear wheels with merciless power. The commanding appearance of the 2-seater graces roads with unparalleled sophistication and unprecedented technology. Delivering incredible performance, the new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine generates 835PS and 1000Nm of torque, reaching a top speed of 214 mph while accelerating from 0 to 62mph in 3.3 seconds.
The familiar Aston look has been enhanced and the new Vanquish commands attention with its assertive, unmistakable design and lightweight carbon fibre body. Distinct Thermo Louvres add not only a graphic element to the muscular body but serve as air outlets cooling the colossal V12 engine. The wide bumper with an integrated splitter completes its aggressive stance.
Vanquish pays homage to its heritage through a commanding aesthetic that seamlessly blends classic influences with innovative design cues, exemplified by the iconic V12 emblem symbolising its rich tradition. A new platform extends the distance between the A-pillar and front wheel, strategically positioning the V12 engine further back in the chassis.
Aston Martin’s design innovation is evident in its distinctive features: quad exhausts with square-circular edges and a customisable Shield in the Kamm tail, reminiscent of classic Aston Martin models. Seven unique light blades mirror the front grille, emphasising the car’s width, while the rear screen integrates smoothly into a panoramic glass roof. An aggressive rear diffuser with central and outer blades enhances airflow, ensuring stability at high speeds.
All new LED headlights, with intricate design and textures, are engraved with the Aston Martin name.
An iconic side strake, nestled within a sculpted infill panel and adorned with the V12 inscription, runs gracefully along the profile. The folded sections accentuate strength and muscularity, drawing the eye towards the rear wheel that channels the V12’s power. Swan doors open elegantly, complemented by a prominent and familiar rear wheel arch, emphasising the rear-wheel drive prowess. Frameless door mirrors and self-presenting door handles enhance the sleek, aerodynamic profile.
Power from the V12 is fed through the renowned ZF 8-speed automatic transmission paired with an Electronic Rear Differential. Through a blend of torque tuning and transmission calibration, Vanquish achieves a balance that makes it effortlessly usable for daily driving. This combination enables smooth power delivery and responsive performance, whether navigating city streets or open highways.
The Vanquish’s unique 2-seat cabin is a sanctuary of power and luxury focusing on both driver and passenger. Every control is ergonomically designed, blending digital precision with analogue beauty, featuring exquisite haptic feedback to complement its advanced digital architecture. The dashboard amplifies the feeling of space and immersion, while Vanquish’s design principle emphasises a seamless surge of power and muscularity, linking the engine directly with the interior environment.
The rear ‘seats’ are now a thing of the past and the new Vanquish uses the rear to create optimum space with a luggage area behind the seats, where leather, carbon fibre, and metal converge to create an alluring atmosphere of pure luxury.
The new centre console features a unique design that exudes high performance. The most called upon intuitive settings are managed by analogue rotary dials and switches. These haptic controls are perfectly blended with a state-of-the-art ‘Pure Black’ touchscreen. Bespoke to Aston Martin, this system is the best in its class.
Drivers will also experience the next-generation in-house infotainment system that redefines connectivity with online features, 3D mapping, and full integration of wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. Effortlessly control it via voice or touch to immerse yourself in an intuitive cabin for an unadulterated, sensorial spectacle.
The new Vanquish not only looks stunning but has the power and performance to match and a driver’s environment clad in leather and carbon-fibre that is the envy of all other marques – Q has been busy.
