Gulfstream Aerospace Corp’s G800 aircraft reached a new milestone as its first cabin-equipped test model completed its inaugural flight. The aircraft, designed to be the industry’s longest-range business jet, flew for 1 hour and 41 minutes, reaching Mach 0.91 and an altitude of 46,000 feet.

The cabin-focused test aircraft joins two other G800s in the certification program. Testing will evaluate passenger comfort and cabin reliability across various scenarios, including overnight flights and extreme weather conditions.

“The G800 flight test program is making great progress, reaffirming our confidence in the flexibility, durability and reliability this aircraft will provide. With its vast range of innovative customization options, the ultralong-range G800 is a true testament to our industry-leading completions and interior and industrial design teams and their commitment to bespoke artistry.”

Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream

The G800’s interior features include an advanced ultragalley with extensive storage and counter space, comprehensive cooking facilities, and a separate crew area. The aircraft can accommodate up to 19 passengers across four living spaces, with sleeping arrangements for 10.

Setting new industry standards, the G800 boasts an 8,000-nautical-mile range at Mach 0.85 and 7,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.90, offering superior fuel efficiency and the lowest carbon footprint in its class. The development process benefits from shared technology with the recently certified G700.

Passenger comfort is enhanced by 16 Panoramic Oval Windows, the industry’s largest, along with 100% fresh air circulation, plasma ionization purification, and the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation. The cockpit features the Symmetry Flight Deck with active control sidesticks and comprehensive touch-screen technology. Safety innovations include a Combined Vision System with dual head-up displays, incorporating both Enhanced and Synthetic Vision capabilities.
