Springfield, Missouri, was transformed with the unveiling of Spidertag’s latest masterpiece, Interactive Neon Mural #23 (#INM23). Spidertag, a contemporary street artist and muralist from Madrid, Spain, is renowned for his innovative take on geometry, abstraction, and minimalism in public spaces. Since 2015, he has used neon lights, LED technology, and glowing cables to create interactive installations that revitalise urban environments. His work features striking illuminated colours, geometric patterns, and minimalist designs, often set against city backdrops.

Interactive Neon Mural #23 (#INM23) spans over an impressive 5,000 square feet, featuring bold geometric patterns and radiant colours that change, illuminating the night with their brilliance.

Curated by Justkids in partnership with the Hatch Foundation for Sculpture Walk Springfield, this work adds another level to the outdoor gallery. Sculpture Walk Springfield envisions an accessible museum without walls, aiming to transform the city through outdoor sculpture. Its mission is to enhance quality of life and promote economic vitality by showcasing high-quality sculptures in public spaces. Inspired by successful public art initiatives in cities like Chicago and Asheville, Sculpture Walk Springfield curates a rotating collection of sculptures each year from April to March, creating an engaging outdoor gallery for the community.

Spidertag transforms walls and structures into captivating visual experiences, merging art and technology to offer immersive works that encourage viewers to engage with their surroundings in fresh and exciting ways. What distinguishes #INM23 is its invitation to engage; viewers can interact with the mural via an app that lets them manipulate light colour and motion.

“I am thrilled to contribute to Springfield’s growing art scene in a way that aligns with the city’s vision,” said Spidertag. “Creating accessible art that offers a unique experience for passersby is truly rewarding for me and I appreciate that so many people showed up for the reveal!”.
