Day 1

Start your first day in Rome by exploring the city’s historic center. Begin with a visit to the Colosseum, one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. This ancient amphitheater was used for gladiatorial contests and other public spectacles in ancient Rome. Next, head to the nearby Roman Forum, which was the center of political and social activity in ancient Rome. Here, you can see the remains of ancient temples, government buildings, and public spaces.

For a delicious lunch option while exploring Rome, consider visiting Osteria Da Fortunata. This restaurant is known for its handmade pasta and cozy atmosphere. Be sure to try their famous cacio e pepe or carbonara for a taste of authentic Roman cuisine. It’s a great spot to refuel before continuing your adventure in the city.

After exploring the ancient ruins, head to the Pantheon, one of the best-preserved ancient Roman buildings in the city. The Pantheon was originally built as a temple to all the gods, and today it is a popular tourist attraction and a functioning church. After admiring the Pantheon’s stunning architecture, head to Piazza Navona, a beautiful square lined with cafes and restaurants. Take some time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere before heading back to your hotel for the night.

Day 2

On your second day in Rome, explore Vatican City, the smallest country in the world and home to some of the most beautiful art and architecture in the world. Start with a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world and the center of the Catholic Church. From there, head to the Vatican Museums, which contain some of the most important art collections in the world, including the famous Sistine Chapel.

After exploring the Vatican, take a stroll along the Tiber River and enjoy the beautiful views of the city. Then, head to Trastevere, a charming neighborhood on the west bank of the Tiber. This neighborhood is known for its narrow streets, colorful buildings, and lively nightlife.

For a unique experience, consider booking a cooking class with a local nonna through Airbnb Experiences. During the class, you will learn to make authentic Italian food and get to know the local culture. After the class, spend the evening exploring the area’s many restaurants and bars before heading back to your hotel.

Day 3

On your final day in Rome, explore the city’s many beautiful parks and gardens. Start with a visit to the Villa Borghese, a beautiful park filled with sculptures, fountains, and gardens. From there, head to the Appian Way, one of the most important ancient Roman roads. This road is lined with ancient tombs and ruins, and it offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

After exploring the Appian Way, head to the Catacombs of San Callisto, one of the largest and most important catacombs in Rome. These underground burial chambers were used by early Christians and are a fascinating glimpse into the city’s early history.

If you’re looking for some delicious street food while exploring Rome, head to the Trastevere neighborhood on the west bank of the Tiber. This charming neighborhood is known for its narrow streets, colorful buildings, and lively nightlife, and it’s a great place to try some authentic Roman street food.

Trapizzino is a famous street food stand that serves a unique take on traditional Roman food. Here, you can try trapizzini, which are small, triangular-shaped sandwiches made with pizza bianca bread and filled with all sorts of delicious ingredients, such as meatballs, eggplant parmigiana, and chicken cacciatore.

End your trip with a visit to the Trevi Fountain, one of the most famous fountains in the world. Legend has it that if you throw a coin into the fountain, you will return to Rome one day. So make a wish, toss a coin, and say arrivederci to the Eternal City.
