Australia is a country with rich, diverse cities, a barren outback in its inner section, and stunning coastline which lines it.

Everything from the wildlife to the powder sand beaches are truly breathtaking, and it’s home to some of the best natural wonders of the world.

Here’s a taster of some of Australia’s most naturally beautiful must-see spots.

1. Fraser Island

Situated on the southern coast of Queensland, Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world, and probably one of the most attractive, too.

Protected for all to enjoy, Fraser Island is rainforest and beach combined into one, and its coloured sands draw in tourists from across the world. If you’re lucky enough to see this on your trip, make time to swim, hike, and explore the inner island, as well as generally taking it all in.

2. The Great Barrier Reef

The world’s largest coral reef system, you just can’t go all the way to Australia and not see the Great Barrier Reef.

As well as looking completely out of this world, it’s a place where you can dive, snorkel, swim, and admire the incredible aquatic life all at the same time.

If you’re interested in learning to dive before going to the Great Barrier Reef, the Secret Traveller has everything you need to know.

3. Whitsunday Islands

In the centre of the Great Barrier Reef lies 74 tropical islands, the majority of which consist of a national park and hiking trails on the inside, and stunning coastline on the outskirts.

Cue serene, bath-like warm water and tropical fish – this is the Whitsundays.

This is an Instagram-lover’s dream, so get ready for all the screensaver-style snaps, and your engagement rate to hit the roof once you start uploading.

4. Uluru (Ayres Rock)

In the middle of the barren outback sits this incredible red sandstone, which has been deemed sacred for thousands of years, and is thought to be over 550 million years old. You’ve probably heard of it before, no?

It’s a long way out, but there are specialist tours you can book to head out there and see it in all its glory. Plus, you can book to stay in the neighbouring area for the full spiritual experience, and even have dinner under the stars. If this isn’t one of the most romantic experiences on the planet, we don’t know what is!

5. Blue Mountains

Nestled in New South Wales, the Blue Mountains are a sight to behold.

Blue Mountains Australia

For those who love nature, the Blue Mountains should be on any traveller’s Aussie bucket list. There’s also the Three Sisters; an iconic trio of rocks and lookout point, serving up some of the most incredible views you’ve probably ever laid eyes on.

Take your walking shoes, get the camera out, and prepare for a day of exploring this magical area. There’s also a Scenic Skyway with cable cars if you want to see it from above.
